About

This template watches your competitors' key pages and tells you when they make a move. It is built for founders and marketers who want to stay informed without checking a dozen sites by hand or drowning in noise.

What it does

The agent "Competitor Moves" crawls competitor pages every week and compares them against the previous snapshot. It looks at pricing, homepages, changelogs and signup flows, then reports back by email. Each change is categorized, scored for impact and grouped by competitor, so a single message tells you who changed what and how much it matters.

The key behavior is restraint: quiet weeks send nothing. When an email arrives, it means a competitor actually did something worth reading.

How it works

  1. On a weekly schedule (Thursday mornings), the agent fetches the tracked pages with Firecrawl.
  2. A diffing skill normalizes each page by type, stripping navigation and footers and pulling out pricing tables, then compares it to last week's baseline.
  3. Changes are sorted into categories, scored for impact and filtered so minor edits do not trigger alerts.
  4. Meaningful changes are grouped by competitor and sent to you through Gmail.
  5. The current snapshot becomes the new baseline for next week.

The result is a steady, low-noise view of competitive movement. Instead of manual page checks or scattered screenshots, you get one focused digest that surfaces pricing shifts, product updates and positioning changes as they happen.

Frequently asked questions

Which accounts do I need to connect?

Two: Firecrawl and Gmail. Firecrawl fetches and crawls the competitor pages each week, and Gmail sends the digest to your inbox. Setup takes about 5 minutes.

How often does it check competitor pages?

Once a week, on Thursday mornings. The agent fetches every tracked page, compares it against last week's snapshot, and then stores the current version as the new baseline for the following week.

What pages does it track?

Pricing, homepages, changelogs and signup flows for the competitors you set. Each page type is normalized differently: navigation and footers are stripped, and pricing tables are extracted so comparisons focus on real content.

Will I get an email every week?

No. Quiet weeks send nothing. The agent only emails when a competitor actually moved, so every message you receive reflects a real change worth reading.

What does the email actually contain?

A grouped digest of meaningful changes. Each change is categorized, scored for impact, and grouped by competitor, so one message tells you who changed what and how much it matters across pricing, product and positioning.

Does it alert me on small or cosmetic edits?

No. A sensitivity filter screens out minor edits so they do not trigger an alert. Only changes that pass the impact scoring make it into the digest.
