About

This template runs an agent that reads new resumes from a Google Drive folder, scores each one against your active job description, and hands you a ranked shortlist through Slack. It is built for founders, hiring managers and ops teams who screen candidates and want a consistent, traceable first pass without reading every file by hand.

What it does

The Candidate Shortlist agent extracts a structured profile from every new resume, scores each candidate 1 to 10 against criteria pulled from the job description, and produces a per-criterion breakdown so every score can be explained. It then ranks candidates and pushes the top 3 to Slack.

Two rules stay fixed:

  • Scoring uses job-relevant criteria only, with fairness rules applied during extraction and scoring.
  • The agent shortlists, it never eliminates. The final call stays with you.

How it works

  1. On a weekly schedule, every Friday at 8am, the agent checks the Drive folder for new resumes.
  2. For each resume, it applies a seven-field extraction schema, reads the job description criteria, and assigns a 1 to 10 score with a breakdown per criterion.
  3. It builds a ranked shortlist and posts the top 3 candidates to Slack.
  4. Nothing moves forward until you approve in Slack, so the shortlist reaches the team only after your sign off.

Every result keeps full traceability from the source resume to the final score, so you can see exactly why a candidate landed where they did.

Frequently asked questions

Which accounts do I need to connect?

Two: Google Drive and Slack. Google Drive holds the resume folder the agent reads and the job description it scores against, and Slack is where the ranked top 3 shortlist is posted for your approval.

How often does it check for new resumes?

On a weekly schedule, every Friday at 8am. The agent checks the Drive folder for new resumes, scores each one, and posts the shortlist to Slack after that run.

Does the agent reject or eliminate candidates on its own?

No. It shortlists, it never eliminates. It scores and ranks candidates and pushes the top 3 to Slack, but the final call stays with you and nothing moves forward until you approve in Slack.

How are candidates scored?

Each resume gets a structured profile from a seven-field extraction schema, then a 1 to 10 score against criteria pulled from your active job description. Every score comes with a per-criterion breakdown, using job-relevant criteria only with fairness rules applied.

Can I see why a candidate got their score?

Yes. Every result keeps full traceability from the source resume to the final score, and the per-criterion breakdown shows how each candidate performed against each job description criterion.

What does the agent send to Slack?

A ranked shortlist with the top 3 candidates, sent for your approval. The shortlist reaches the wider team only after you sign off in Slack.
