I work with small teams and nonprofits that need automation, do not have an engineer, and are not about to hire one.

That single constraint decides everything else. Whatever I build has to be something you can open, understand and change three months after I am gone, which rules out most of the clever options and all of the fashionable ones. Intake and case tracking for three Cape Town nonprofits, volunteer scheduling to retire a shared spreadsheet: that is the shape of the work.
