Before: query understanding and ranking at tens of millions of documents, the scale where the vector search everyone starts with quietly stops working.

Now: retrieval for banks and large enterprises. A knowledge platform serving 8,000 internal users at an Indian bank. One rebuild that moved a RAG system from the right answer 40 percent of the time to 91.

On the side: advising two AI startups on retrieval architecture, mostly talking them out of the fine-tuning they do not need yet.
